Danny Bryant started playing the guitar at fifteen, and just three years later turned professional. Since then he has performed alongside greats like Jeff Beck, Joe Bonamassa, Peter Green and Buddy Guy. He is helped in his band by the percussion nucleus of Ken Bryant on bass and Trevor Barr on drums. This is their sixth album release, and if it is as successful as their last album I am sure that Danny will be very happy, as a track from the album LIVE was used on a compilation CD alongside great blues axmen like George Thorogood and Johnny Winter.
This is a stonking blues rock album, with Danny quite phenomenal on guitar. Most tracks are in the five or six minute region, and have his gritty rock vocals accompanied by scything and electrifying guitar solos as with the rocking Twenty One, and the weeping guitar sounds on the really soulful and heart-rending blues of Old Blues Song with Danny’s superbly tormented vocals a revelation.
There is a mixture of great blues ballads such as the pulsating Any Wonder, and pounding rockers like the opening track Tell Me, which go to make this a must buy for all you blues guitar fans out there. Dave Knowles
